2009 National Hydrogen Association (NHA) Annual Hydrogen Conference
and Hydrogen Expo US
The Connecticut Hydrogen-Fuel Cell Coalition (Coalition) participated as an exhibitor at the National Hydrogen Association Annual Hydrogen Conference 2008 and Hydrogen Expo US on March 30-April 3, 2009 in Columbia, South Carolina. The conference attracted 2,000 public visitors and more than 700 attendees for a recording breaking year of attendance. Over 40 sessions were conducted covering hydrogen generation, stationary and transportation applications, state programs, workforce development, and hydrogen end use. Eleven fuel cell vehicles were also on hand where more than 500 people waited to test drive vehicles from Daimler, General Motors, Honda, and Hyundai. The conference was a pivotal opportunity for attendees to develop and sustain relationships to keep ahead of the current economic downturn.
The Coalition was one of nearly 80 exhibitors at the show that had visitors from over 30 other countries. The theme for the Coalition's Booth was “Connect-to-Connecticut”, with the intent of showcasing Coalition member companies and organizations and the state’s resources and capabilities in order to attract businesses to Connecticut, promote the Connecticut Hydrogen-Fuel Cell Coalition, and to demonstrate support for the fuel cell and hydrogen industries in Connecticut.
Several members of the Connecticut Hydrogen-Fuel Cell Coalition, including CCAT, the Department of Economic and Community Development, the Connecticut Global Fuel Cell Center at the University of Connecticut, and three in-state manufacturers: FuelCell Energy, Precision Combustion, Inc., and Avalence, LLC all participated.
