Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director for Energy Initiatives, the Energy Specialist is responsible for supporting activities of the Energy Program, including, but not limited to, the following: Assist in the development, implementation, and operation of core elements of the Energy Program; Assist with administration of the Center for Energy Solutions and Applications, including the review of potential opportunities for the application of advanced distributed energy technologies; Conduct or direct research and analysis for studies relative to projects and policies for energy development; Develop reports and presentations; Develop and maintain databases; Identify and pursue collaborative projects on sustainable energy; Participate in meetings, workshops, and events to disseminate information and technical assistance to target audiences; Assist in the development of proposals in response to funding opportunities; and Identify and/or develop external resources to meet program goals.

Job requirements include an understanding of energy issues including project development, environmental resource management, and government policy; Excellent skills for articulate and accurate writing; Good presentation and organizational skills; Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Proficiency with computer and multimedia technology is required; Must fulfill ITAR citizenship requirements.
