Coalition Members

The Connecticut Hydrogen-Fuel Cell Coalition, administered by the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, is comprised of representatives from the fuel cell and hydrogen industry, labor, the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund, and other stakeholders. The Connecticut Hydrogen-Fuel Cell Coalition is working to advance the development, manufacture, and deployment of fuel cell and hydrogen technology and associated fueling systems. The inaugural members of the Connecticut Hydrogen-Fuel Cell Coalition includes the following:

Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology

CCAT works in partnership with industry, government, and academia to strengthen technology-led economic competitiveness. The Energy Program at CCAT provides administrative support for the Coalition and facilitates collaborative efforts to enhance the capabilities of the fuel cell and hydrogen industry.

FuelCell Energy

FuelCell Energy, Inc. is a developer and manufacturer of carbonate fuel cells based on the Company's Direct FuelCell® (DFC) technology. FuelCell Energy is developing its Direct FuelCell® for use in stationary applications with three main products, sized at 300 kW, 1.2 MW and 2.4 MW. FuelCell Energy is also developing next-generation high temperature fuel cell products, including a diesel fueled marine Ship Service Fuel Cell, a combined cycle DFC/Turbine® power plant, and solid oxide fuel cell systems for applications up to 100 kW.

GenCell Corporation

GenCell Corporation is a manufacturer of fuel cells and integrated fuel cell power generators. GenCell is developing molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) systems in the 40–100 kW size range for distributed generation applications.  GenCell can also supply it's proprietary metallic bipolar plate components to other fuel cell OEM's for use in MCFC, solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC), proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), and direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) stacks.

Proton Energy Systems

Proton Energy Systems builds HOGEN® proton exchange membrane (PEM) hydrogen generators and UNIGEN® regenerative PEM fuel cell systems. Proton's PEM technology and products serve four primary markets, including industrial hydrogen gas supply, hydrogen fuel for fuel cells, power quality and reliability, and hydrogen for renewable energy storage.

UTC Power

UTC Power is a unit of United Technologies Corporation, a company that provides high technology products to the aerospace and building systems industries throughout the world. UTC Fuel Cells, a unit of UTC Power, manufactures, sells and services the PureCell™ 200 power system (formerly known as the PC25). The PureCell™ 200 power system is a phosphoric acid fuel cell (PAFC) which uses liquid phosphoric acid as the electrolyte.

Infinity Fuel Cell and Hydrogen, LLC

Infinity Fuel Cell and Hydrogen, LLC is comprised of a team of experienced fuel cell, hydrogen and business professionals dedicated to making the fuel cell and hydrogen future a reality. Infinity's initial product focus is on developing purpose-built proton exchange membrane PEM Regenerative Fuel Cell systems to provide energy storage for renewables.

International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL/CIO is a hard working, strong and responsible labor organization dedicated to aiding workers in achieving a more secure, more prosperous standard of living.

Connecticut Clean Energy Fund

The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund, financed by a surcharge on ratepayers’ electric utility bills, is administered by Connecticut Innovations, a quasi-public state agency.  The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund is engaged in a focused effort to foster the production and use of clean energy.  It accomplishes this legislative mandate by investing in initiatives and enterprises through a variety of  programs created to stimulate technology development and commercial use of; fuel cells, solar energy, biomass, as well as to promote public education and awareness in Connecticut.

GrowJobsCT

GrowJobsCT is a coalition of labor, business, and community interests, along with elected officials, who come together with the goal of sustaining and growing manufacturing in Connecticut.

General membership to the Connecticut Hydrogen-Fuel Cell Coalition is open to any and all individuals, corporations and organizations whose fuel cell and hydrogen activities are aligned with the Coalition’s goals. Other members of the Coalition include:

 

Connecticut Siting Council

The Connecticut Siting Council is a Connecticut State agency with jurisdiction over the siting of power facilities and transmission lines, hazardous waste facilities, and telecommunications sites.

Connecticut Department of Community and Economic Development, Office of Business and Industry Development

DECD's state investment arm and the advocate for business and economic development, this office maintains a staff of experienced business development specialists who are very knowledgeable of the many programs, services and incentives available to businesses in Connecticut.  This office is the principal point of contact for in-state and out-of-state companies seeking assistance.

Clean Energy Institute, College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture -University of Hartford
The mission of the Clean Energy Institute is to foster the introduction of renewable energy resources within Connecticut. The Clean Energy Institute provides innovative energy solutions for Connecticut that reduce environmental impacts, while fostering cheap, reliable power.

Connecticut Global Fuel Cell Center (CGFCC), University of Connecticut
The CGFCC's mission is to identify and bring together the necessary elements of science, engineering, and society to make fuel cells technically and economically feasible energy conversion devices for a sustainable civilization.

United Illuminating
UI is a regional distribution utility providing electricity and energy-related services to more than 320,000 customers in the Greater New Haven and Greater Bridgeport areas of Connecticut.

American Hydrogen Association
The American Hydrogen Association works in cooperation with organizations such as the IAHE, NHA, NASA, environmental groups and industry, community, and schools to promote understanding of hydrogen technology, and help create a marketplace for pollution-free hydrogen energy. The group over 600 person years of research development, and fabrication in hydrogen production, storage, transportation and utilization.

Hydrogen Safety LLC
Hydrogen Safety, LLC is an engineering consultant practice focused on expediting the commercialization of hydrogen related technologies through prudent risk management strategies that minimize the risk exposures surrounding the emergence of hydrogen-based power into the public mainstream. As part of its risk management portfolio of services, it also offers hydrogen safety training over the Internet and customized safety seminars for its clients.

The Greater New Haven Transit District
The Greater New Haven Transit District (GNHTD) is a governmental agency established in 1973 under the provisions of Connecticut Public Act 261, Chapter 103(a) for the purpose of operating and providing a variety of transportation programs and services. The GNHTD provides direct transportation services, and vehicles to municipalities and community agencies in the greater New Haven region for their own respective transportation programs.

Avālence, LLC
Avālence, LLC based in Milford, CT offers leading-edge electrolytic technology to produce high-pressure hydrogen gas for clean energy infrastructure applications. AG/ENA
AG/ENA is an architectural firm specializing in prototype design. Since its founding in 1947, AG/ENA has completed a wide range of projects for major corporations and public agencies in 18 states and 14 countries. For 25 years the firm served as Design Consultants to the Mobil Oil Company. AG/ENA leads the ARRC/H2 Alliance, a multi-company initiative composed of industry leaders that has developed a unique Prototype Hydrogen Fueling Station/Information Center.

Precision Combustion, Inc.
Precision Combustion, Inc. (PCI) develops, manufactures, and markets catalytic devices for clean and efficient combustion, emissions control and chemical manufacturing applications. Clean Cities

CTTRANSIT
